the Thread - March 2024
Spring has officially arrived, despite the recent snowfall, which is par for the course here in Vermont this time of year. Another exciting thing is that we have March’s The Thread edition for you! This month we are discussing our newest products from our Lucky collection, and talking about our resident prototyper and patternmaker, Herrie! As always, we will be sharing with you some of our favorite Vermont destinations. Happy Spring!

Behind the Scenes: people
Herrie Son
For this month, we are talking about Herrie, our in-house patternmaker and prototype rock star! Herrie is our resident comedian and always has us laughing throughout the day.
Herrie came to 4T2D/Fourbital Factory in 2023 and she’s been very busy! With our anticipated outerwear collection being released this fall, Herrie has been focused on developing and testing garments that
meet the standards we want to give our customers. Creating reversible products and using new materials has been a new challenge for Herrie. “The inside of a jacket gives you the opportunity to hide certain finishing details. Reversibility is challenging, it’s basically two jackets in one garment, which makes it more challenging." When we asked Herrie what her favorite part about her job is, she stated “problem solving…and getting to use all the machines!” We’re confident to say that Herrie is meeting these challenges head-on,
making great products, and having fun while doing it!
We always love to hear which 4T2D product is our employees favorite, and it timed perfectly that we featured Herrie along with the Lucky collection because the Jackpot Ringer tee is her favorite. When the California native is not busy at work, Herrie loves spending time with friends “doing random, boring, weird, exciting things!” But her favorite Vermont thing to do is timber framing–how awesome is that?!
Behind the design: PRODUCTS
The Lucky Collection
Our latest March products are part of our Lucky collection. When designing, we weren’t necessarily thinking of things happening by chance, but rather the positive, joyful, and serendipitous experiences in our lives. We wanted to design a collection that embodies those experiences and inspires new ones in you.
The Lucky collection will add fun and dynamic pieces to your wardrobe. First off, we have the Roll the Dice tee that is the epitome of fun. Incorporating actual dice into the print for both the Men’s and Women’s tees, It’s one of those garments that requires you to get close to see all the details. We’re all about creating products that are both functional and fun, and we can’t agree more that the Roll the Dice tee does just that!
Like we did with our Love collection, we have a new tee design added to the mix. The Ringer tee is our newest product and one that will be part of our collection of tee styles in the future. The ringer tee is our classic tee with a slight twist! With contrasting ribbing on the neckline and sleeve hems, this tee showcases a pop of color. Not only do they look effortlessly cool, but they're also incredibly soft. Made from a blend of cotton and modal, these tees are ideal for everyday wear. The vintage ringer tee style has timeless appeal, making them perfect for any occasion. Built for comfort and versatility, ringer tees are a wardrobe staple, providing an easy-to-wear option that stands the test of time.
In addition to these new tees, we’ve released our Reversible Corduroy BCKT hat! For both men and women, the bucket hat is made for those warmer and brighter spring days. What makes this bucket hat even better is its reversibility! With a soft, textural black corduroy on one side and a navy corduroy with our Lucky patch on the other, this hat gives you the option to wear from day to night, and everything in between.
Our latest products are giving us all the Spring feels and we’re ready for the longer, warmer days with the Lucky collection!
Behind vermont lines:
North Branch Nature Center
Each month we will ask our featured employee what their favorite place in Vermont is and why. This month, Herrie wanted to give a shoutout to the North Branch Nature Center!
Located two miles from Montpelier, Vermont’s capital, the North Branch Nature Center is a 28-acre nature preserve near the bend of the North Branch of the Winooski River. When asked why Herrie picked North Branch as her favorite Vermont place, she said, “Great cross-country skiing in the winter and hiking and mountain biking in the summer!” We can’t disagree with a place that you can explore year-round, regardless of season! If you are looking for a quiet and beautiful place to walk or ski, swim or jog, or relax along the river, check out the North Branch Nature Center.
Herrie couldn’t pick just one Vermont favorite—another is Camel’s Hump. “Camel’s Hump is my north star – I love seeing it from different places in Vermont.” The third-highest mountain in Vermont, Camel’s Hump hiking trails are part of The Long Trail and with its distinct profile you can see it from many different areas around the state. Some consider it to be Vermont’s finest mountain peak.
If you find yourself wanting to explore new Vermont places, we think you’ll enjoy NBNC or Camel’s Hump for whatever adventure you’re looking for!
